The intake coarse water filter, commonly known as the seawater filter, is a specialized piece of equipment used in marine engineering to remove solid impurities from seawater. Its primary function is to protect system components such as valves and instruments from blockage and associated damage. The filter’s structure consists mainly of a housing, a filter screen (filter plate), and inlet and outlet ports. Based on its design, it can be classified into two main types: straight-through and right-angle, and it complies with the CB/T 497–2012 national standard for the shipbuilding industry. In shipboard systems, it is primarily employed in seawater cooling, ballast, fire-fighting, and other pipeline systems.

Surface treatment: Typically hot-dip galvanizing on both the inner and outer surfaces. Alternatively, internal rubber lining or plastic coating may be applied.
