The self-operated dial-type level gauge consists of a sensor, capillary tube, display unit, and other components, and features a compact footprint, light weight, easy installation, and long service life. It is widely used for level measurement in diesel tanks, fuel tanks, lubricating oil tanks, water tanks, and similar applications.
Self-operated level gauges are available in two configurations: side-mounted and top-mounted. Side-mounted gauges are typically equipped with shut-off valves.
Structural Principle
When the pressure P of the measured medium acts on the diaphragm, the diaphragm deforms and compresses the sealing liquid in the pressure-measuring system of the pressure instrument, thereby generating a pressure difference of P–ΔP. Depending on the density of the medium, this pressure difference is converted into a height indication.
Method for Adjusting the Liquid Level Difference
There is a small hole at the top of the dial-type level gauge. Use a flat-head screwdriver to adjust it: turn clockwise to indicate a high liquid level, and counterclockwise to indicate a low liquid level. If no reading is displayed at present, turn the knob clockwise while closely observing the pointer; if the pointer moves, stop adjusting and add oil or water to the tank—this will cause the pointer to change.
