All vessels and offshore installations registered in China must be equipped with valves that have CCS certification. This certification covers multiple stages, including design approval, material selection, manufacturing processes, and performance testing.

Examples of applicable standards include GB/T 5744-2023 “Marine Pneumatic Quick-Closing Valves” and GB/T 3036 “Marine Center-Type Butterfly Valves,” both of which must be implemented in conjunction with CCS certification.

2. Safety Integrity Level Certification (SIL)
SIL levels range from SIL1 to SIL4, with higher numbers indicating more stringent safety requirements.
Critical marine safety valves and emergency shutdown valves must meet SIL 3 certification, demonstrating their ability to operate reliably even under extreme operating conditions.
